welcome to the ericamay blog!

Hi! I'm Erica May Short, and I'm so excited that you're visiting my photography blog. This blog will show you all of my current work with a few fun personal things mixed in to help you get to know me better. I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Kansas City, and I love my job. I am so blessed to be a part of so many love stories. My photography style is a fun and relaxed documentary style, and I focus more on emotions than posed stuff. :) Besides photography, I love my husband (Jeff), our miniature schnauzer (Petey), and the color green. You can visit my main portfolio website at www.ericamay.com!

Tucker’s One-Year Session: Kansas City Baby Photographer

Getting to see babies grow up throughout their first year is one of my favorite things. This morning, we ended 2009 with Tucker’s one-year session at his home. Doing portrait shoots at my clients’ homes is also one of my favorite things — it’s so relaxed, natural, and great for small kids! Tucker has grown...

Baby Lucy at Christmas: Kansas City Baby Photography

I got to visit the cutest little 5-month-old baby yesterday, just in time for Christmas. Lucy is growing up so fast, and is a little tiny version of her mom. Seriously, you could pick them out of a crowd. So cute. I snapped some photos of her while we were playing yesterday. Here...

Petey’s New Friend: Hutton the Yorkie

Tonight, Petey (our miniature schnauzer) got to play with a new friend, the cutest little Yorkshire Terrier, Hutton. While Jeff and I dined with Hutton’s parents, the two canine guys did who-knows-what around our house. They must have played quite a bit, because Petey is completely passed out and snoring next to me....

It’s a good thing I don’t take myself too seriously…

Or I wouldn’t share these photos with you of us shooting.
I came across a little collection of photos of us shooting at a wedding or two this fall. And I thought it might be fun to share them with you! So, here we are “in action.”
Jeff looks cool when he shoots…

I’m not quite...
