Lisa and her sisters!

It’s the best thing to spend time with people who are so full of life. Like Lisa, who never stopped smiling during our whole shoot, who laughed a lot, and who was just a joy to photograph. People who are so full of life, like Lisa and her two sisters, Sarah and Emily — who are all so fun, and even more funny all together. These sisters made me wish I grew up with sisters, too (although, don’t get me wrong, I love my brothers dearly). We took photos of Lisa to celebrate her first year of college, and had to also capture photos of the bond that only sisters share.

Romy is just adorable. She’s super fun and was really great to get to know during our shoot. Her older brother Calder was the groom in a wedding I shot just over a year ago, so it was fun to get back together with a member of the family! Our shoot at the Overland Park Arboretum was relaxed and fun, and I love how Romy’s personality shines through in the photos. Here’s a little sneak peek:

Olivia’s Senior Photos on the KU Campus

Olivia drove a few hours to take her senior photos, and we met up on the KU campus for some fun photos with pretty backdrops. She wanted photos that didn’t look like the rest of her classmates’ photos, and we had a lot of fun creating images to capture her senior year. She brought along a quilt that was her grandmother’s, which was perfect for the photos and had great personal significance for Olivia. Here are a few of my favorites from her shoot!

Katie loves books. She loves to read, loves learning new things in books, and loves literature in general. She also loves her hipster glasses. And her bright blue Chucks. She wants to go to an east coast school to study English, and we bonded over our love of books. I brought along some of my collection of old books for her shoot, and it was a lot of fun to photograph Katie and capture her personality!

Rachel was so much fun to photograph, because she was having the time of her life during our shoot. She was full of smiles, super energetic, and up for anything. I love photographing happy people, and Rachel was the perfect subject. She’s a talented musician and actress, and will do big things with her positive attitude! Jenny is a beautiful girl with a very bright future ahead of her. I loved hearing about her plans for school, and to go do very big things in the world. The best part is, even after meeting her for just a few minutes, I believe that she’ll do it. And more. Jenny’s session was really fun and I loved her fall attire and (of course) the green she chose to wear! She looks amazing in green, and of course, I like any girl who wears green.

I took photos of an adorable girl with an even better name. She’s a talented senior who plays golf, the flute, and is super smart. She’s also named Erica, and she is so much fun. We took her senior photos at Shawnee Mission Park and the local golf course where her school’s golf team plays. Enjoy the preview of her fun shoot!

Tyler’s senior photos took place in my hometown area, which I have actually never photographed in! It was funny to think that I’ve never done a photo shoot in the town where I spent a lot of time growing up. Tyler is really into baseball, and brought along a cool car for the shoot. Senior Photos: Jacob (My Little Brother!)

I’ve been looking forward to taking my little brother’s senior photos for a while now. He’s a great sport to let his older sister take his photos, and for the whole family to go along and watch. Poor guy. But he’s a champ. It’s hard to believe that he’s a senior. I keep saying that over and over, but it’s true. He’s quite a bit younger than me, but we’ve always had a special relationship. He has made me so, so proud always, but especially in the past few years. He has lots of talent, a great sense of humor, and doesn’t let little things get him down. He’s wise beyond his years. He sees the big picture. He laughs at silly jokes, and is the perpetual entertainer. He’s my little brother, and a handsome one at that.

Here are just a few of my favorites. I picked the ones where he looks the most like how I want to remember him at this stage.

Have the best senior year… in Cross Country, Debate, Forensics, Scholar’s Bowl, stage productions, and whatever else you do this year. And, everyone else, May 22nd is not available for your wedding this year… I’ll be watching this guy graduate!!
