It’s hard to really explain the incredible experience of the Don’t Give Up Project, a photography workshop hosted by The Parsons. It was an awesome thing to do in the middle of the busy season, and refocus on why I love doing what I do, and how I can serve and love my clients well. A group of 18 or so photographers gathered for a few days at a gorgeous cabin in Divide, Colorado, with incredible views of Pikes Peak. The location, the people, and the advice and encouragement of Jeremy and Ashley made the experience unforgettable. Photographers who are reading this should make it a goal to attend the next project. It will be one of the most inspirational things you do. I’m serious.
It was a workshop where they encouraged us to use our cameras throughout and experience the workshop through our camera lens. I loved that, because for me, photos serve as a way to go back to that place and time and remember what I was feeling, thinking, and learning. So I took some photos while I was there. The weekend involved lots of conversations, laughter, amazing food, smores by the campfire, wiffle ball, rocking chairs, and thunderstorms. We also did an amazing sunrise shoot, which I’m going to reserve for a separate post.
Here’s a little glimpse into the workshop, and images of the people who made it amazing.

The Parsons led a shoot with Ben and Renee as models — as a storm brewed on the horizon.

We were also paired up to do mini portrait shoots of each other, and I’ll probably post a few of the ones I took of Ben in a separate blog post. Here are some images from the last night’s candlelit dinner.

Please check out the incredible work of the photographers who attended. They’re amazing people, and I know you’ll love their work:
