Jess and Matt’s wedding on Labor Day weekend was so much fun. These two recently moved to Tucson, Arizona, but had their morning wedding in Kansas City in the church where her family has been going for years (St. Peter’s Cathedral in Kansas City, KS) and a fun breakfast-themed reception at Harrah’s. Jess and I met up several weeks ago to take her bridal portraits, which is a fun southern tradition that Jess wanted to incorporate into her wedding — taking photos in her gown before the wedding, and displaying them at the reception! I’ll share some of her bridal portraits here on the blog very soon.
I photographed Jess’s brother’s wedding last May, so it was a great time to see one of my couples at a wedding and photograph their family again!
For now, enjoy this little preview of their wedding day photos! The girls got ready at Jess’s grandma’s house, which I loved.

Jess is very gifted in fashion and apparel design. She made so many personalized things for her bridesmaids and the moms — shirts, totes, clutches, and even personalized hangers for their bridesmaids’ dresses. How cute are these?

St. Peters is one of my new favorite churches to photograph in Kansas City. The light was pouring in all the windows.

The ceremony at St. Peters was so gorgeous. I loved the colors of the doors and stained glass. And this cutest-ever face on the ring bearer:

I also loved how sweet Jess and her dad were all day.

And how Matt looked at her when he saw her for the first time!

We took some portraits at the church in between the ceremony and reception:

Their reception at Harrah’s was great — with a really fun menu. A breakfast buffet, pastries, fruit, and a made-to-order omelette station!

Congratulations! Family and friends — to see all of their images once they’re ready to go, please click here to sign the online guestbook. You’ll receive an email when the images are all online!
